How to Take a SAP Sample For Corn

Step 1

When taking a SAP sample of corn it is pretty similar to the soybean SAP sample. First, you will need to pull the lowest, developed, old leaf.

Step 2

Once you pull the lowest, developed, old leaf you will need to tear off either end as the lab only wants the middle 5-6 inches. All of the old leaves go in one bag together.

Step 3

Now you are going to pull the newest leaf with a fully developed collar.

Step 4

Again, make sure to tear off either end so that all you have is the middle 5-6 inches and put all of the new leaves in their own bag together as well.
