How to Take a SAP Sample For Soybeans

Step 1

When SAP sampling soybeans, you take samples of old leaves and new leaves. You will need gallon ziplock bags for the old leaf samples to go in their own bag and the new leaf samples to go in their own bag. These bags should be filled until they are completely full. When pulling old leave samples, you are looking for the lowest alive trifoliate leaf.

Step 2

Once you have pulled the old leaves, you will need to pull the new leaves. New leaves are the newest, fully unrolled trifoliate.

When pulling SAP samples for soybeans it is important to get the leaves and the pedial for the lab.
